Would you like a Water or a Coke?

This is really an eye opener.... WATER or COLA?
We all know that Water is important but I've never seen it written down like this before.

WATER

1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.

2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger.

3. Even mild dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%.

4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.

5. Lack of water is the Number 1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.

8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.

9. If you have chronic headaches or migraines, drink down a 20oz bottle of water at the onset!!! It helps to lessen the pain (if you follow that with Gatorade or Pedialite.... it will help even more!)

And now for the properties of COLA:

1. In many states (in the USA) the Highway Patrol carries two gallons of Cola in the trunk to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.

2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Cola and it will be gone in two days.

3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Cola into the toilet bowl and let the "Real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Cola removes stains from porcelain and china.

4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap Aluminum Foil dipped in Coca-Cola.

5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.

6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Apply a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.

7. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of Cola into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains.

8. It will also clean road haze from your windshield .

More..... Important Information on
COCA COLA:

1. The active ingredient in Cola is Phosphoric Acid. Its pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a Nail in about 4 Days.

Phosphoric Acid also leaches calcium from your bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase in Osteoporosis.

2. To carry Coca-Cola Syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck must use the Hazardous Material place sign and card reserved for Highly Corrosive Materials .

3. The distributors of Cola have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 50 years!

Now the QUESTION is......
Would You like a Cola or a Glass of WATER?

Steel Kingdom pics from New Year's Eve

And last but not least - Steel Kingdom pics from last night's New Year's Eve celebration at The Montage. The highlight of the night - when around 4-5 people were all trying to open the champagne bottles with only 4 minutes to go til midnight and the corks were not wanting to behave!! hahaha In fact, one cork broke right off!! Oops! They did manage to get the bottles open in time for the toast!

Here's some pics of the Steel Kingdom set:

Finally getting around to downloading my pics to my computer! And I finally figured out how to resize and tag my pics in a batch! haha - Now I have no reason to take forever doing this all the time!

I know there are only a few but I take a lot and only a few really ever turn out good enough to publish! Still learning and playing with the settings on my camera.

Enjoy:

All That I Bleed

And yet another one of my faves from Savatage:

Someone
Got themselves a letter
In the mail the other day
It's already worn and tattered
And I guess
It gives away

All the things we keep inside
All the things that really matter
The face puts on its best disguise
And all is well
Until the heart
Betrays

She knows
As she reads her letter
That things were bound to stray
Winds blow
She pulls her coat tighter
And the letter flies away

With all the things she keeps inside
All the things that really matter
The face puts on its best disguise
And all is well
Until the heart betrays

Lord bring on the night
Wrap it all around me
Let it hold me tight
Soak up all that I bleed

And I'll fly away
Yeah I'll fly away
Lord I'll fly away
Watch me

Lord bring on the night
Wrap it all around me
Let it hold me tight
Soak up all that I bleed

I bleed

- This song is a definite fave! And anyone who knows me at all knows how much I love Zachary Stevens' voice. One of my favorite vocalists of all time. But man, I gotta hand it to Damond Jiniya when he did the Poets and Madmen tour. He gave me chills listening to him sing this song live.

Love this song!

I'm importing all my cd's into my external hard drive so that I can listen to everything in my iTunes. I'm finding some of my favorite music and loving it!
This is Miles Away from Savatage - I love this song!!

And a cool rain comes down
On a world burned by the sun
And a moon arises like a child
And the moment is undone
And the starts never say what they see
As the moon flirts with shadows it makes
Through the fallen trees
Some would wait for the morning light
But I fall asleep 'til I'm safe
In the arms of night

Let the darkness roll in
Let it wipe the light away
In the distance
Always calling
Morpheus
He beckons play

Still the morning is pre-ordained
But I believe light is the source of all of our pain
It reveals our smallest sins
But dark covers all will always take you

Armed and gunning
I've been running
Always just before the day
In the distance
Day is dawning
But I'm already miles away

In the night there's wonder
Always there for you to see
In the light of morning
Visions fade
And dreams can flee

With the darkness the night forgives
Covers our scars and lets
The lost souls live
And the morning's a distant fear
But if we move fast they'll never find us

Armed and gunning
I've been running
Through a world that's in decay
Let them thunder stare and wonder
Cause I'm already miles away

And the rain comes down

- I can't even explain how much I love this song. It makes me feel happy (certain memories), sad (missing far away friends), bittersweet (not being able to see certain people all the time). Just a mish mash of emotions whenever I listen to it!

I actually found parking at the mall!!!

Well, I braved the mall tonight and went to get my mother's
christmas present! Actually the store I needed has an outside
entrance so I didn't even have to go into the actual mall, and
parking wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it might be! I got her
this massager thing that you can put on any chair and it has a
controller to do your upper, middle or lower back. She's been
talking about the darn thing for months so I can't wait to see her
face when she opens it! I have one gift left to get tomorrow and I
think it will be an easy one. Just something to do with the
Washington Redskins for my roommate. I wrapped everything else
tonight and finished decorating the tree except for a few ornaments
that I need those hanger things for. *mental note to add that to my
list for tomorrow!* Well, I'm off to bed - want to hit the stores
before those real last minute shoppers who are still getting all
their gifts tomorrow!

Vacation!!!

Looks like I'm heading to the Phoenix area in a few weeks! Dates and times to come soon! I love this timeshare stuff!! :)

*Update:*
I'm flying into Phoenix on January 13. I will actually be staying in Sedona (it was cheaper to fly into Phoenix than Flagstaff) and I will be there through January 20. I'm looking forward to some nice warm air (even though it hasn't been really bad here - it's still warmer there!!)

Two things.....

If you are going to be a DJ on Sirius Hard Attack, it should be a pre-requisite that you know how to pronounce "Vinny Appice". I mean, Really - this chick butchered his name the other night.

Secondly, and this is to the bands out there: People who are "shopping for lables" should probably know how to spell labels correctly.

That's it for tonight! I'm out!
